What's Been Happening in Chicheley
Situated on a hill, Chicheley was spared flooding.
The winter of 2013/14 was officially the wettest on record.
Situated on a hill, Chicheley was spared the terrible flooding experienced by many parts of the country.
Nevertheless, the fields were saturated, streams overflowed and some roads had shallow floods. The farming routine was disrupted, and the footpaths around the village became almost impassible for hikers, joggers, riders and dog walkers.
Rainwater does accumulate at the junction of Bedlam Lane and the A422. It is believed to be due to damaged drains beneath the road, but Milton Keynes Council shows little interest in addressing the problem.
