Anti-Social Behaviour and Burglaries.
Burglaries.
TVP Milton Keynes continue the fight against burglaries throughout the winter months, as the darker nights draw in.
Op Darknight was launched in October, led by Detectives from our Priority Crime Team, in partnership with Milton Keynes Council Community Safety Partnership. This initiative focuses on combatting burglaries throughout Milton Keynes during the darker winter months, and targeting those offenders who often prey on the most vulnerable members of our community.
We are increasing our patrols over the coming weeks, please engage with our officers when you see them!
Remember:
- Keep valuables locked up and out of sight.
- Ensure that your boundary fences and gates are well maintained and secure.
- Install security lighting and CCTV around your property.
- Keep an eye out for your neighbours' property.
- Move wheelie bins away from fences and gates.
- Report any suspicious people or vehicles.
- Register your valuables and electrical devices with https://immobilise.com/
If you believe there is a burglary in progress, dial 999 immediately
Otherwise, please report on 101 or on our website https://www.thamesvalley.police.uk/
Anti-Social Behaviour.
It is Antisocial Behaviour Awareness Week (18 to 24 November) - a national week that takes place annually to raise awareness of anti-social behaviour and ways of tackling this. Along with partner organisations, and MKCC colleagues, we are taking part in several activities/events during the week.
As part of the week, we want to share some information with you that might be helpful within your communities. Therefore, please find enclosed a new poster to help raise awareness of Cuckooing. This is a practice where drug dealers take over a vulnerable person’s property. The poster shows how to identify if someone is a victim of Cuckooing and who you should report it to, using the simple acronym N.E.S.T.
Please can you add this poster to noticeboards, parish newsletters and social media to encourage people to report this practice, as Cuckooing can happen anywhere.
