Events
Article by David Robertson from SCAN Magazine.
It is with sadness that I record the death in May of Mrs Claire Ruck Keene. Claire had lived in Chicheley for almost four decades so I thought a few comments of how much Claire has contributed to our small Chicheley community would be appropriate.
In 1987 Claire joined our Village Hall committee and remained an enthusiastic and committed member for the rest of her life. She and husband Robert hosted many varied fundraising events at their home, for the Village Hall and for our church, much to the benefit of both organisations. Any long-term reader of Scan magazine will be aware of the many events we hold in Chicheley and Claire was always an enthusiastic provider of ideas and substance to make them all work.
Claire enjoyed the countryside and her skill in flower arranging could often be seen in our church. Her financial accountancy skills were also of benefit to SCAN Parish when she volunteered to become the PCC treasurer for a number of years.
Claire's life and contributions outside of our small village will be spoken of elsewhere but let me say she will be much missed by many of us.
