Overloaded with high volume of calls

Hi Everybody,

Here is a link to a copy of our February 2023 Newsletter: Feb 2023 Newsletter (miltonkeynescab.org.uk)

This is an exceptionally busy time for Citizens Advice up and down the country, not least, here in Milton Keynes. To get an idea of just how oversubscribed our services are, you may find the latest 'Cost of Living Briefing' from National Citizens Advice interesting - you can watch the video here - Citizens Advice January Cost of Living Briefing - Zoom

Citizens Advice has also produced this Data Dashboard around Cost-of-Living Issues. This showcases data at both a national and local level , and is available here - CA cost of living data dashboard | Flourish

I know that some of the people that your organisation may support, or work with, will have commented on how difficult it can sometimes be, to get through to an adviser. On average, we're receiving 450- 500 calls per week at the moment in MK, and as ever , we have only so many appointments , volunteers and members of staff available to meet this huge demand.

We're working flat out to try and secure more funding, which will help us to expand the service in 2023. With this funding we hope to be able to reach more areas across MK though increased outreach work, and other advice projects - but this of course, takes time.

Please take a look at our updated contact leaflet which I've also attached as a pdf. This shows the variety of different ways for people to access our service. Please share this with anyone who you feel might need our help.

Thank you very much,

All Best Wishes,

Ben
