A Street Party was held in Hall Lane during the afternoon of Saturday 2nd June to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Many people can be thanked for their hard work in planning the event, securing the road closure, making and decorating the Jubilee Cake, setting up the chairs and tables, and providing the venue and the bottles of champagne for the Loyal Toast. We will not embarrass them by naming them, but we all know who they are!

We were very fortunate and only suffered a few spots of rain before sitting down together to share and enjoy the communal food and friendship.

Over seventy people took part. We started with a champagne reception at Chicheley House for the Loyal Toast. We then moved to Hall Lane where there was happy, noisy chatter until the late afternoon.

It was a thoroughly enjoyable and memorable day.
