The fine weather of the last week has been enough to complete the ripening of the majority of the crops, and to dry them ready for harvest.

Our village farmers have subsequently been busy, and working very long hours, to combine, bale and plough. Most of the crops have been gathered, but a few fields need a little longer.

Some fields have already been ploughed, and the countryside around Chicheley is taking on its autumn appearance.

We wish our farmers a safe and successful conclusion to harvest, with good yields, good quality and good prices.

Harvest Festival was held at St. Lawrence Church on Sunday 14th October, and the auction of produce was held in Chicheley Village Hall on the evening of Monday 15th.

Harvest Supper was held in Chicheley Village Hall on the evening of Saturday 20th September.
