There is an ice warning sign on the side of the road as you drive east out of Chicheley on the A422 towards Bedford.  Motorists ignore this warning sign at their peril.

The S bends to the east of Chicheley, known as Clay Hills, are very prone to icing.  Despite traction control and better tyres, several cars make unplanned diversions via the hedgerow every year due to ice.

Such an accident took place on Good Friday, when a vehicle slid off the road and through the hedge.  Fortunately, on this occasion, there were no injuries.
