What's Been Happening in Chicheley
Not an April Fools' Day Joke
We were confined to our homes by lockdown restrictions to prevent the spread of Covid. Many guidelines were issued on what could and could not be done, and the powers of the police to intervene.
A group of volunteers banded together in Chicheley to publish a very helpful newsletter with updates and advice. This really helped retain a sense of community during this very difficult time.
Some events such as commemoration of VE Day took part outside and "socially distanced". Garden waste collections restarted in May, the pub was allowed to serve outdoors in July, and church serves resumed (without singing) in September.
