Courtesy of Thickthorn Farm, a Jubilee Beacon Bonfire was lit at the highest point in the village at 10:00pm to mark the culmination of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Celebrations.

The evening started with soup, sausages, drinks and cakes. We moved to the bonfire site as the sun set, just in time to see the full moon rising on the horizon. The bonfire was lit by Ted Duncombe and Tom Boulton, and we then enjoyed its light and warmth while we continued chatting late into the evening.

Once again, everyone expressed their thanks to those who had worked so hard to organise the event, collect the wood and build the bonfire, and provide all the food and refreshments. It was another successful Chicheley community event.
