Pierre and Christine Girard celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary with family and friends on 24th August. This was several months after their actual date, but the warmer weather permitted a celebration in their lovely garden.   Entertainment was provided by rising singer-songwriter Robert Vincent, accompanied on bass by Pierre and Christine's rock star son Etienne.

Congratulations and best wishes also for future happiness to Jeff Townsend and Fatima Shurmahi who were married in Guildford on Saturday 27th August.  Jeff grew up in Chicheley and continues to visit regularly.   They will live in Brighton where Fatima is an oncologist at the hospital and where Jeff manages the UK office of his company.
